“Everyone can join in on the Beanie Fest fun”.
The Murrindindi Beanie & Fibre Festival is excited to be held as a live and online competition on July 24th – 25th in 2021. To keep everyone safe, we are pleased to offer a fabulous array of beanies and winter warmers via our online Beanie Festival auction. To secure the beanie of your choice, you can bid as many times as you want using your iPhone, iPad or computer. Just click on the link above.
The MBFFV is non for profit with money raised going towards many community based projects within the Shire of Murrindindi. People of all ages benefit from the money raised each year.
The Beanie Festival relies on donations of beanies and winter warmers. We would love our beanie fest family to create beautiful beanies and post (or drop) them to us. The time is right to get creative again. The Murrindindi Beanie and Fibre Festival is always looking for community knitting groups or individuals to get involved and support the festival. Everyone can join in on the Beanie Fest fun.

In previous years located just North East of Melbourne, the MBFF is a festival of fibre art, a feast of fabulous beanies, workshops, stalls and more. The community at large and the town of Alexandra comes alive with all thing’s beanie, as people, lamp posts, shops, and businesses take up the challenge of wearing, creating or displaying the best creation. The success of the Beanie Festival relies on the generosity of the wider community who create the wonderful beanies and winter warmers that are on display and for sale throughout the festival. The beanie competition is all inclusive, open to anyone to enter, of any age and ability. Entries are Australia wide and our reputation overseas is growing. While many school students have taken up the challenge of creating their best beanie made from recycled materials, there is simply no end to the community’s creativity. Please visit our Entry page on this site for details on how you can enter this year’s festival. (Please note, school entries are not being excepted in 2021 due to Covid 19).
