A WARM WINTER CELEBRATION OF FUNKY FIBRE ART. The Murrindindi Beanie and Fibre Festival is a small volunteer organization who use their passion for all things fibre to provide a great community arts event that is open to anyone to enter and in turn provides support for the smaller causes in our beautiful Murrindindi region.

This year we are providing our clever, creative, fibre festival via both our live festival held in the Alexandra Shire Hall and via our online auction (date to be confirmed) ending at 3pm.

Our annual Beanie & Fibre Festival is a much loved and greatly anticipated community event strongly supported by the whole town of Alexandra, people living throughout Murrindindi Shire and beyond. In fact, all items sold at our fabulous fibre festival are hand crafted and donated by our amazing supporters both here and from overseas. People love the warm and inviting atmosphere, and the opportunity to purchase a really special and hand made beanie or winter warmer.

Wear a Beanie Day is featured on the Friday before the Beanie Fest & is celebrated by all with many school students and places of work participating, donating a gold coin for the privilege.

The Beanie Fest Competition is run concurrently to inspire and showcase the amazing creativity of fibre lovers from beginners to those who are experienced. All skill levels and ages are catered for and as always we encourage those who are new to creating with fibre to take the plunge and enter the competition. Many of our donated items are made locally within the Murrindindi region and beyond.

Each year money raised from the sale of beanies and winter warmers is used to support community projects within the Murrindindi Shire.

The Murrindindi Beanie and Fibre Festival welcomes any group within the Shire of Murrindindi to apply for funding for their community based club or project by emailing the MBFF Committee – murrindindi.beanie.fest@gmail.com and tell us something about your group, your role within the community and why you would like to receive some funding from the MBFF.

This year because of the need for social distancing and to keep everyone safe, we ask that you maintain a safe distance when entering and attending the beanie festival and follow the signs. We are pleased to offer a fabulous array of beanies and winter warmers both live and a select group of beanies via our online Beanie Festival auction. To secure the beanie of your choice, you can bid as many times as you want using your iPone, iPad or computer on our Auction site 32auctions.com/beanie2023

Good luck! We hope you will get that special item!
